This project is located on the Santiago river in Nayarit State, Mexico, downstream Aguamilpa HPP, and has been designed to control the HPP daily discharges.
It includes:
- non-overflow concrete gravity dam of 259m long and of 21m height;
- broad crested spillway of 68.5m wide with 6 bays that closed with radial gates;
- antechamber concrete gravity wall of of 125 m long and of 20 m height;
Ukrhydroproject company elaborated design of the gated bays of the flood and construction water spillways.

Ukrhydroproject company elaborated detailed design of the spillway dam and coordinated supply of eight sector gates of 8.5 x 15.41 x 16.0 m with hydraulic rams and oil pressure units; the company also provided supervision of construction and erection works, and elaborated the preliminary study for the future hydropower plant.
