The project is located on the Dnieper river downstream Kakhovka, Kherson region, Ukraine. It is the lowest hydro development of the Dnieper Hydro Cascade. The project is designed for power supply, improvement of the river navigation, irrigation of arid lands in the south of Ukraine, fish-breeding, and water supply.
Kakhovka Hydropower Project includes:
- powerhouse of combined type with outlets;
- spillway dam;
- navigation facilities;
- earth dam;
- water intake structure of the North-Crimea irrigation canal.
