Dniester HPSP
The project is located on the right bank of the Dniester river, in Sokiryany District, Chernivtsi region, Ukraine, and is now under construction. It is designed for generating of peak power and for load relief at thermal and nuclear power plants during night dips of the daily load curve, as well as for irrigation.

It includes:

  • upstream reservoir;
  • water intake;
  • intake tunnels;
  • powerhouse;
  • tailrace tunnels;
  • water outlet;
  • tailrace canal;
  • conjugation facilities (abutments of upstream and downstream reservoirs);
  • earth structures;

Run-of-river powerhouse is situated on the left bank flood-lands of the Dniester river.

max static head 38.7 m
Installed capacity in the generating mode 2268 MW
