The project is located on the Dnieper river, in Zaporizhia, Ukraine. The project is designed for power supply and improvement of the river navigation. The project comprises two hydro plants: HPP-1 and HPP-2, with the day and week cycles of operation, participating in the coverage of peak loads in the power network of the Ukraine.
It includes:
- spillway dam;
- powerhouses of HPP-1 and HPP2 with erection bays;
- water intake with 9 penstocks of HPP-1;
- conjugation facilities;
- one-chamber and tree-chamber shipping locks;
- non-overflow left bank dam;
- outdoor switchyard.
